Snowboard Half Pipe Finals at Breckenridge

Wha's up peoples? What a day in Breck at the men and women's snowboard half pipe finals! Man can these riders fly. After the short but helluva hike up to the pipe and fingers well on their way to freezing, the sun providing us a bit of warmth, it was time to catch the action in the pipe. The best way to describe it is with pics, so check these out and pretend you are flying with em.

Gretchen Bleiler, Kelly Clark, and Elena Hight captured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively and Danny Davis, Shaun White, and Scotty Lago captured the titles for men's finals.

After getting a few autographs and some great pics of my youngest son with Gretchen Bleiler and Danny Davis (compliments of my husband, the one and only, Ken Pishna) sorting thru the pics and catching a run on my own board, I'd say it was a day well done!

One last note - walking thru Breck tonight, who did we run into but the famous Shaun White himself, Indian head dress and all - no kidding on the head dress thing! No pictures allowed and I didn't even get a chance to sneak one, but it was pretty cool to see him out and about just being a typical snowboard freak!

Enjoy and see ya! Ape =)

Snowy Dew

Welcome to the wonderful world of the mountains and all its glorious snow. It's the first day of the Winter Dew Tour for me and snowing like crazy!! I did manage to grab a few shots before the blowing snow cancelled the rest of the day's events. Here are a handful for your viewing pleasure and then be sure to check out www.pishnastockphotos.com in the next couple of weeks.

The photos here are from the snowboard pipe women's open qualifier and the men's practice.

Keep checking back here at the blog - slopestyle event is tomorrow and the finals of the superpipe will be amazing.

I personally think these riders are insane - but maybe I'm a bit jealous that I never learned to fly.
